Individual Soul-Oriented Counseling Services

Personal CounselingThe goal of soul-oriented counseling is to embrace, nurture, challenge and deepen your relationship with your authentic self, which longs to be connected, engaged and present.  We work with you to explore your deepest longings, intuitive inner knowledge, core creativity and to transform what keeps you from moving into a life that maximizes all of your inner resources.

At Rune Hill we use cross-cultural and nature-based ceremonies and practices and personal guidance to deepen your connection to yourself and the universe.  Each individual session is tailored to meet your unique needs.   Those who come to Rune Hill often spend time wandering the land after personal sessions to incorporate and embody what has been learned and experienced.

Sessions might be right for you if you are:

  • Personal CounselingSeeking a more meaningful life or one with more intentional direction.
  • Feeling restless, or as if something is missing, despite a life that is
    full and busy.
  • In the turmoil of a major life transition.  Major transitions are often stressful but they can be catalysts for personal growth and a change of consciousness that will lead to a more fulfilling life.
  • Longing to be more connected to your intuitive self.
  • Desiring to deepen your capacity for intimate relationships.
  • Feeling like a “misfit” who doesn’t fit in with peers or society.
  • Experiencing grief that feels “bigger” than your personal experience.

Sessions can include:

  • Dreamwork.  Through our dreams, we can discover the powerful resources at our core, and what’s holding us back from embodying them.
  • Life Mirroring.  Indigenous cultures know that a potent personal experience is to hear our stories mirrored back to us as a myth.  By looking in the reflection of our own stories we often expose the hidden parts that are self-defeating, while experiencing equally well-hidden delights.
  • Soul Tasks In Nature.  In the wild, we humans are instinctively drawn to the lessons we need, whether on a walk in a dark forest, sitting in a meadow filled with wildflowers, or creating a stone sculpture at the base of a waterfall.  Individual soul tasks are designed to engage your intuitive, wild, naturally inquisitive soul in an exercise of discovery.
  • Creative Expression.  Using movement, poetry and art helps transform the word games we play with ourselves and change personal patterns that can hamper growth.
  • Grief Work.  Our culture sees grief as something to “get through” on our way to happiness.  We see it as a guide into soul, service and, ultimately, into spiritual oneness with the Sacred Other.  The early mystics believed tears were a gift from God and a gift to God.   Deep personal grief or sorrow that has an external source -- community, family, friends, the earth, or ancestors – is an opportunity for deep healing.
  • Soul Retrieval/Shamanic Healing.  Sometimes, early emotional wounds can become “stuck” deep within us or cause what Tibetan shamans call “soul loss.”  Unexplained feelings of loss, dis-ease that appears to have no physical basis, chronic tension in particular parts of  our body, can be symptoms of Spiritual or “Energetic” blockages.  Shamanic healing, which usually involves guided, hands-on, energy work, loosens blockages and integrates critical parts of our personal and ancestral history.

Fees Structure: $50-90 per hour, sliding scale depending on income.

All personal sessions are guided by Lauren Chambliss, Director of the Sundial Center at Rune Hill.  Lauren has worked with individual clients for more than five years.  She has trained in Dreamwork, Shadow Work, Council Ceremonial Design and Rites-of-Passage, with the Animas Valley Institute, Durango, Colorado.  She studied Shamanic Healing and guided imagery in the Tibetan, Native American and Celtic traditions with the Polarity Center and Shamanic Studies Institute, Takoma Park, Maryland and with Larry Peters, Los Angeles, CA.  She learned the importance of Grief Work from the Ancestors.

Couples and group work can be arranged on the phone or in person with Lauren and Jeffrey Allen.
